PdM System Design

The TIdata PdM System is designed from a thorough Information Audit determining the equipment environment, maintenance procedures in place and the relevant data that can be collected.

The PdM System collects raw and processed data from multiple technologies. Data inputs include strategically placed sensors monitoring components on the major equipment systems, operational data from the driller controls, lubrication analysis from outside laboratories, data inputs from existing equipment sensors, other data gathered by maintenance personnel.

Sensor engineering specifies the precise type and purpose of the sensors to be installed. Placement of Sensors will be designed for Top drives, mud pumps, draw works and other equipment. Optimal methods will be developed for collecting data about the condition of the bearings, gears, drives and the lubrication. Operational data such as torque, weight, speed, temperature will be integrated into the data collection.

The data collected from multiple sensors in identical time frames gives a clear picture of the machinery health and performs trending analysis under various operating conditions. Multiple indicators analyze the relationship between separate elements such as lubrication condition and bearing wear, providing a clear picture of condition that helps establish root cause of problems.

Sensors

Sensors can identify many potentially damaging conditions, including: bearing degradation, excessive synchronous vibration, and motor overloading and overheating. They can also identify worn machinery parts early, enabling replacement prior to serious damage. Real-time information from sensors develops visibility into the true condition of the machinery.

Data Collection and Processing

The PdM System monitors the equipment characteristics and collects data to diagnose its condition. The PdM System collects large amounts of dynamic data from the on-rig sensor network. The data is processed and summary data is sent to the data center periodically. Alarms/Alerts are communicated immediately if set points are reached.

The PdM System provides the earliest possible notice of potential problems at every site and on all equipment assets you operate, regardless of manufacturer.
